In the year 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it was the top-streamed track at the time within six months. The single Despacito, which combines reggaeton with pop music, not only brought new interest to reggaeton but also increased interest in Latin music. In 2015, there were two mostly Spanish-language songs on Billboard's Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. In the midst of the Despacito's popularity in 2017 there were 19 predominantly Spanish tracks which made it into the top 100. In 2020, it was 41. In the wake of Justin Bieber's dual remix Despacito (2017), a number of bilingual remixes Despacito (2017) famous artists soon began collaborating with reggaeton performers including Drake and Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna and Maluma in Medellin (2019). In 2020, a few Reggaeton artists were complaining about the advancing of the genre towards the mainstream. However, a younger generation like Rauw Alejandro was determined to maintain the development. The incorporation of elements from electronic dance music, and different styles was an accepted method.
