Carpenter states that the actress turned down his offer to be Laurie Strode. Anne cannot recall John Carpenter having contacted her nor offering the role. There is a chance that one of Anne's agents rejected it for her reasons without informing her. Glen Larson chose her initially and then sent her a draft written script. She was to appear in the television series Battlestar Galactica, which aired in 1978. She rejected the role initially since the character wasn't strong. Later Glen wrote a new part just for her with a much stronger character named Sheba. She embraced the Living Legend's script after she read its first 25 pages. The show lasted for just one season.
