Stevland Morris (ne Judkins, May 13 1950) also known as Stevie Wonder is an American artist and singer. He is often considered to be the first to pioneer a wide range of genres, including soul, rhythm and blues as well as gospel, jazz soul, gospel and funk. A virtual one-man band Wonder's use for synthesizers and other electronic musical instruments during the 1970s transformed the norms of R&B. Wonder also helped in the emergence of such genres in the album era. His LPs were cohesive and consistent as well as conscious social statements that contained complex compositions. Blind from the time of his birth, Wonder was a child prodigy who signed with Motown's Tamla label at 11 years of age and was given the name of a professional Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's popularity with critics reached its peak in 1970s. His "classic period", beginning in 1972, saw the release of Music of My Mind. Talking Book featured "Superstition", one of the most renowned and distinctive sounding sounds made by the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. The Grammy Award for Album of the Years was awarded to Innervisions (1973) The Fulfillingness's First Finale (1974) and Fulfillingness's First Finale (1974), and Songs in the Key of Life (1976). He is tied for third highest number of albums with three Album of the YEAR wins. He is also the only artist to win the award for three consecutive albums. Wonder began his "commercial period" in the early 1980s. Wonder had his greatest albums and highest levels of recognition, and had an increase in album sales, charitable involvement and notable collaborations
